Towa 339 80mm 1200mm f/15

Courtesy of the Most Esteemed Tom Duncan of CloudyNights – my sincere thanks!

Look at that… that’s a Towa 339! Tom Duncan was kind enough to part with it upon his acquisition of  a Tasco 10-TE (very nice!). I just happened to be stumbling thru the CN Classifieds and noticed I hadn’t noticed it before. I scrambled to ask Ton if it was still available and miracle of all miracles it was – after being listed for three days! It was a sign from Urania! It had to be! She kept this safe from pillagers for three days, that I might find it and come to be it’s keeper… that is sooo totally awesome!! Hail Urania! All Thanks to the Great Goddess! Praise be to Urania!

As you know:  OURANIA (Urania) was one of the nine Mousai (Muses), the goddesses of music, song and dance. In the Classical era, when the Mousai were assigned specific artistic and literary spheres, Ourania was named Muse of astronomy and astronomical writings

I’ve always felt she has a thing for me – some have scoffed – but I believe this is the proof.

Anyways, only the OTA – no mount, no tripod, no accessories – and this too, I believe, is the work and will of Urania – she wants me to ‘do it right, mortal’ and I shall.
